GIANT TORNADO DWARFS WARSHIP !
Tornado storm creates giant waterspout The Royal Navy has captured an image of a giant waterspout - resulting from a tornado - between two of its warships in the Mediterranean. The photograph of HMS York in the Mediterranean was taken from HMS Edinburgh during the storm. Lieutenant-Commander Simon Bedding, the Weapons Engineering Officer from HMS Edinburgh who took the picture, said: "It was very dramatic. The skies darkened and we had a terrific hailstorm, with thunder and lightning. "The first tornado was followed by three more tornadoes, drawing up humidity and showing themselves as white waterspouts. "It was a spectacular sight. Hailstones half-an-inch in diameter were showering onto the upperdeck. I grabbed my camera and managed to get a picture of the waterspout between us and HMS York, which was about four miles away."
